What do I want to be when I grow up?

When I was growing up I wanted to be everything from psychologist, to doctor, to teacher, to aid worker, to photographer.  It was that generic sense that I wanted to make a difference, in some way to improve the world around me.  It would take me a lot longer to realize that the best way to do that is to enable others to improve their own environments.

I did finally settle on a major - design / architecture - and., I think now that, I chose it because of its process -  research, experimentation, analysis and creation.

My early interests have led me off the typical career path of an Architect, allowing me opportunities in community collaborations, photography, graphic design, product design, education, researching, and writing.

But what I'm most interested in is the intersection of design thinking and social impact, when students, when community members are empowered with skills for design thinking then positive change becomes sustainable because everybody gets to participate.
