Wedding Stationary
Inspired by the Islamic patterns found in Indian architecture and textiles this design sought to marry both the elegant and the whimsical tastes of the bride and groom. To do this a geometric and floral pattern were designed, at times overlapping and at times working on their own to come up with a variety of designs that held together in the stationary suite.
Invitation
I worked with James from an awesome printing and design studio who patiently tested various techniques of blind and offset letter-pressing so that both patterns would layer distinctly. The choice to use only the texture of the press (see final results below) was in keeping with the bride’s minimalist taste.
Reception Card
For the Sangeet (reception) the geometric pattern which evokes the popping of fireworks was used to emphasize the celebratory nature of the traditional performances. This design was printed with a color letterpress on cotton paper.
Thank you
The thank you card pulled from the floral pattern and was digitally printed on cotton paper to achieve a subtle water-color affect.
Printing Tests
The final pattern test of the blind and offset techniques hot off the press - so in love!
